Responsible gambling at LuckyGem

Gambling should always be entertainment, never a source of income or an emotional escape. This page gathers the available control tools, a self-assessment test and the official help resources in Spain.

A note on licensing

LuckyGem operates under an offshore Costa Rica licence and doesn't hold a licence from Spain's Dirección General de Ordenación del Juego (DGOJ). This means self-exclusion tools aren't connected to the state's national self-exclusion register (RGIAJ), and the legal protection available to players is different (generally lower) than with a Spanish-licensed operator.

Tools available

Setting these limits before your first deposit, not after you've started playing, is the most effective way to make them useful.

Self-assessment test (10 questions)

Answer honestly. If you answer "yes" to three or more, seeking professional guidance is recommended:

  1. Have you bet more money or time than you originally planned?
  2. Have you needed to bet increasing amounts to feel the same excitement?
  3. Have you tried to cut down or stop gambling without success?
  4. Do you feel restless, irritable or anxious when trying to stop?
  5. Do you gamble to escape personal problems, stress or negative emotions?
  6. Have you tried to win back previous losses by betting more?
  7. Have you lied to family or friends about how much you gamble or spend?
  8. Has gambling put a personal relationship, job or study opportunity at risk?
  9. Have you taken loans or sold belongings to fund gambling?
  10. Have you borrowed money from others to ease a financial situation caused by gambling?

Protecting minors

Access to LuckyGem is strictly prohibited for anyone under 18. We recommend installing parental control software on any device shared with minors to block access to gambling and betting sites.

Support for family members

The impact of problem gambling isn't limited to the person gambling: family and close friends may also need guidance. FEJAR and Gambling Therapy offer resources specifically for family members, including support groups and guidance on raising the topic without confrontation.

Warning signs to watch for

Progressively increasing the time or money spent gambling, hiding bank statements or bills, feeling anxious when unable to play, or prioritising gambling over work, academic or family obligations are signs worth taking seriously.

Self-exclusion: how to request it at LuckyGem

Self-exclusion can be requested by contacting the operator's support team from the account panel, stating the desired period. During self-exclusion the account is blocked from depositing and playing, though withdrawals of balance available at the time of the request are usually still possible. We recommend requesting self-exclusion in writing to keep a record of the date and agreed period.

Social versus problem gambling

Recreational gambling is defined by a pre-set budget and time limit, no impact on daily obligations, and the ability to stop without significant distress. Problem gambling is identified by a progressive loss of control over time or money invested and using gambling as an emotional escape mechanism.
